Do I need to take my finished pieces to a kiln?

No absolutely not - that’s the fun of our clay.  Model your shape at home and let it air-dry.

It looks great in its natural state with 2 coats of sealer, or paint with white acrylic paint (and colours if you wish), let the paint dry and apply 2 coats of sealer.

NB: Our air-dry clay is not food or water safe, so if you want to make a bowl to eat out of, or a mug to drink out of, you must get your creations fired in a kiln after its dried for at least 2 weeks. It must not have our paint or sealer on it.
You can't use your oven at home to fire your pieces :)

Waterproofing your creations

We’re very excited to have finally cracked the code on waterproofing air-dry clay!
At long last and with many iterations we have developed a brilliant waterproof varnish! Easy to apply, non streaky, non sticky and with amazing coverage.

How to use our varnish:
1. Wait for your piece to dry completely for a minimum of 2 - 3 days. It’s important your creation is bone dry before painting (very light in colour and hard to the touch).

2. Apply 2 generous coats of our white acrylic eggshell base layer on the inside, outside and base of your creation. Allow this to dry for a couple of hours.

3. Apply 2 generous coats of our ultra glossy or matte varnish on the inside, outside and base of your creation. Allow this to set completely overnight to ensure a waterproof finish.

And that’s all there is to it!

Pottery for stress relief

We won't go full clay geek on you, but creating with clay is a  sensory experience that relaxes the mind by disconnecting our thoughts from the outside, allowing us to focus only on the material in our hands.

Expect a natural calming effect - it is an ancient technique that helps connect our minds with the earth through our hands, offering a much-needed break from our digital world. You're sure to love it :)

Can I buy extra clay?

Your kit will come with enough clay to make a few things.Yes we sell single packs of clay if you'd like to make a bigger piece or if you've already got our kit and tools and want to make something else.

What if my clay becomes a little dry or hard?

Spray some water in to your pouch and leave to soak. Knead the clay like pizza dough for a while and it will spring back to life. Make sure you seal your pack completely so that no air can get in if you're only using half your clay and saving some for later.

Is your clay non-toxic and food safe?

Yes our clay is non-toxic so it's super safe for your little ones, but please supervise and make sure that they don't put any into their wee mouths. Our air-dry clay is not food or water safe, so if you want to make a bowl to eat out of, or a mug to drink out of, you must get your creations fired in a kiln after its dried for at least 2 weeks (don't use any of our paints or sealer before firing).
